Nisar Aboobacker
Founder & Chairman and Managing Director, Wedmin Academy Edutech Private Limited
Nisar spent 15 years building and running events, from weddings to corporate functions, in India and the UAE. Again and again he met young people who wanted to work in events and hospitality but had nowhere to learn the real work.
So he did something few people in the industry ever do. He sat down and wrote a full course himself, built from what he had learned on the event floor: planning, guest care, teams, budgets, risk and the pressure of the big day.
He took it to Mangalore University, a State University of the Government of Karnataka. The university's experts studied it, added to it and refined it. Then the Academic Council approved it, and at his request the university agreed to start the programme with Wedmin Academy. A government university putting its trust in an industry founder's course is a rare step, and it shows the confidence the university has in his work.
Wedmin students do not just study events. They learn from someone who has run them.
